Dear Fellow Toastmasters,
LET'S REJOICE.
Let us rejoice in the growth of fellow members.
Let us rejoice in each other's strength.
Let us rejoice as we bring in the harvest.
Pulling together to achieve President's Distinguished Club this term are our exemplary members. ACS Foong Weng Tuck, the trendsetter, did his second round of Competent Communicator manual to ensure that our club achieves President's Distinguished. At the beginning of the term, he told me, "I will be standby.....just in case." Thank you Uncle Foong, so sweet of you to think ahead.
Of course our gungho member, Patrick Lim, an eager, enthusiastic beaver, chipped in readily. His tight, heavy work commitments did not deter him in his determination and in his quest to ensure victory for us. Thank you Patrick, for all your assurances that it will be done.
Our poker-faced, beloved Treasurer, Hendry Yip Wah Pung knew that his time has come .... to be DTM this term. He calculated, he calculated, he calculated. He could be in Taiwan, he could be in Paris, he could be Mongolia, his mind was decidedly to complete his speeches and claim the crown...DTM. Thank you Hendry, we are so proud of you.
Our international globetrotter, SK Khor, is completing his second award, ACB. He always cares and emphasises that he wants to help our club to score towards the President's Distinguished. He strives, he seeks and devotes serious and sustained effort to do a very challenging project this time. Thank you SK for your kind thoughts and endeavours. We will cheer you on.
Let me also applaud Kenyu Ho who will be doing his maiden attempt as TME of the evening. I know that Kenyu will put in all that he has to ensure an evening of fun, education and entertainment.
While we enjoy the evening, let us also remember those who are on the other side of the globe hard at work. We have Karen Yen in China and Iylia in the United States. We miss them and look forward to having them back again soon.
Last but not the least, we warmly and whole heartedly welcome our latest member, Nelson. We look forward to seeing you at our meeting on 10th May and may the evening be just as rewarding for you as it will be for us.
Sincerely,
Siew Peng
