June 19th, 2010 - As Incoming Area B1 Governor Lim Lay Kun officiated the installation @ Barbera Cafe Bangsar Park in the evening, I must declare the ship has arrived for A Voyage of Discovery!!!
Oath is taken. I wonder if this is merely a showcase for the Team to carry out their duties? It's more than that. I found something more priceless.
June 9th, the incoming Vice President of Education, Peter Siew pledged to roll out next term's Educational Program, which is already in hand. June 13th, our honorable incoming Secretary, Samantha Teoi worked her promise, and within 24 hours after calling me, she emailed a splendid Notice and Agenda to the incoming Exco. June 17th, our incoming Vice President of Membership Tham Chee Wah put up a very engaging introductory circular about 101 Session for the next term, in our blog. Those are the few esteemed individuals, who worked beyond self even BEFORE the oath takes place! I call it - the REAL SPIRIT of toastmaster!

The REAL SPIRIT of the voluntary team's contribution for all. It is indeed the REAL SPIRIT that gives a big bang to the new Term! For this, my dear team, you deserve a roaring applause from the floor!
Dear fellow toastmasters, we are spiritual being. Real spirit lies in our soul. It is the health of the soul that brings the true purpose of our human experience. Sometimes, I wonder how we are connected to our soul, and act according to the purpose in life.
Public speaking is one of the effective ways to evoke our UNKNOWN authentic power. I'll never forget how would a serious member spoke like Mr Bean; how would an introvert member sang a song, even he can't believe it; how would a Founder of a successful organization, spoke so eloquently with words of compassion and humility. I really salute those members! They not only have high status in wealth, high status with fame or high status in their business/profession, but they humbly act differently from their norm when they are in club meetings. They are able to cut through the clouds of the ego and attempt to see what is true in themselves, through public speaking.
Dear friends, the desire to achieving our life goal is always there, awaiting DISCOVERY. If we don't let go of how we see ourselves, we will never see possibilities outside ourselves. Learning how to move from our life junction brilliantly, is a step to expressing our own real nature.
Therefore, the theme for next term - 'A Voyage of Discovery' is a journey for everyone of us to reach our authentic power and go beyond to achieve our purpose in life by connecting the soul!
