Meeting report by Exco
Some snap shots to share...Thirteenth the thirsty Thursday, members came to quench the long awaited monthly club meeting.
Stand-in toastmaster Lee Tong Fong exuded warmth and greeted everyone heartily. He lifted the mood of the meeting as the ASA.
Toastmaster of the Evening ACB Karen Yen started the meeting at 7.40pm sharp. She managed each segment of the meeting smoothly.
The 101 Session speaker, ACS Ivan Ho generously shared his experience on his trips to The Land of Hornbill. His tonnes of colorful, close-up pictures and narration of the trip broaden our knowledge as he put it up in slides. He explored a lot more about Sarawak's culture and few incidents happened during the trip. He extended heartfelt appreciation to club members who contributed the gifts to the poor. It was truly a meaningful trip for him which embraced the natural world.
2 Ice Breaker Speakers, Toastmaster Hartati Hussain and Toastmaster Lee Tong Fong presented their maiden speech. This was followed by CC Victor Ong who attempted a toast honoring someone in a funeral wake setting.
The Open Evaluation session was helpful as members offered various useful and appropriate feedback. Besides that, the speech evaluators ACB Lim Lay Kun, CC Kenneth Shee and DTM Dr Arulnathan furnished a 3-minute precise feedback, added more advantages to the speakers.
Overall, the meeting was conducted fruitfully. President ACB Foong Weng Tuck looks forward to the next meeting on 10th September 2009, which will be led will lead by DTM Sheila Wong.
