TME Nancy Liew took great pains to prepare a special event for us, including the preparation of goody bags that were distributed by Santa Wee. Understandably, the economy has been bad and this was most apparent when Santa sported a much slimmer, fitter look. It seems increasing food prices has done Santa some good!
We dove straight into the speeches for the night. First up was Chan Siew Peng who was working out of the Communicating On Television manual. She delivered a serious and concise presentation entitled “Are You Prepared?”
Her speech was followed by Karen Yen’s Storytelling assignment. Delivered with poise and confidence, Karen shared with us her journey towards the best dim sum restaurant in Ipoh.
Finally, there was our new and enthusiastic member, Victor Ong. He worked out of the Competent Communication manual, sharing with us his opinion about sexiness. It’s not what’s outside but what’s inside that makes a difference.
The GE, Bernard Louis, then masterfully took over the rein from TME Nancy Liew. As always, we had spectacular evaluations that were positive and constructive, without any frills.
Before we took leave, we had a little game, led by Tham Chee Wah. The challenge was to build the highest structure out of straws only. We all had a fine time trying to figure this out!
All in all, it was nice to be away from our regular venue but we are all looking forward to getting back to Rm1.08 KDU College on 8 January 2009. Hope to see you there!
