Last meeting For Term 12June2008

25 guests and members thronged the room of KDU 1.08 at 1950 hours to kick off the last meeting of the term. Hearts were heavy but happy to be present, to meet up for one last time this term, before a new era begins under the new Exco!
DTM Dr Arul is a busy man, yet made it to helm our final meeting for the term. The whole night, the meeting was lively and entertaining.
Our first speaker was Karen Yen who presented a Korean folk tale entitled "God's Money Bag". It depicted the greed of human beings. The moral of the story was that greed can cause our downfall.
Next, we had long lost Vincent Chia speaking on Investment for retirement. He shared some good tips.
The third speaker was a guest from WDM Toastmasters Club. Chen Yen Li worked on the monodrama by impersonating Agent Smith from The Matrix.
Last but not least, the enchanting Sheila Wong expounded on the phrase she coined - "Who Kiss, Who Pay". She took on a comedian's role on the night and talked about her car accident before the Chinese New Year. It was great having her back.
Open evaluations were conducted and open to audience and guests for speakers to improve. All speakers were each presented with one VCD of Toastmasters Convention by TME Dr Arul.
We also inducted four new members. The induction was solemnly done and facilitated by Bernard Louis. The new members present were Chan Siew Peng, Dennis Wee, Karen Yen and Joyce Hue. Welcome to DU Advanced Toastmasters Club!
To wrap it up, President Lee Wei Seong thanked everyone for being present at this historical meeting. The theme "Beyond Self" was embraced as he had scarified his personal time to keep the Club moving forward.
President Lee WS, we will miss you and your TEAM as we travel down memory lane!
