Our Christmas with Penang Street Food Meeting was in abundance of learnings and laughters !!!
@ The Mage Cafe, Damansara Jaya on 10th Dec 2009 Thursday.
40 members and guests gathered at the cafe in red-white X'mas caps to set the mood.
Many members who have been missing for a while turned up for the celebrations - ACB Stuart Tang, ACS Joyce Hue, Sam Siew, ACB Choi Kum Ying, CC Arthur Yong, CC Chen Yien Li etc. Everyone were served with delicious homemade Penang Street Food and Nutmeg drink from 7pm onwards.
President ACB Foong WT took the stage at 8pm with warmth greetings in his opening address.
Followed by TME ACG Dennis Wee. He led the meeting smoothly and systematically, and never without much laughters at each sessions.
Table Topic Master DTM Tham chee Wah encouraged speakers to tell stories in conjunction with the meaningful season.

1st Table Topic Speaker DTM G Subramaniam attempted topic on "Why you like Red?" eloquently from his feeling on that night of celebration.
2nd Table Topic Speaker, our guest Lai Chee (Crystal TMC) was highly animated and enthusiatic in her story about "What has touched you the most?"
3rd Table Topic Speaker, our guest Nirmala (Unitar TMC) spoke naturally and dramatically throughout the duration on "What Christmas is meant to you?".
4th Table Topic Speaker, our guest Mike (HICT) didn't realized his fluency in the speaking but the best he did on "Why you want to join toastmasters?"
The session went on without intermission. The audience remained attentive to Assignment Speech Session.
ACB Chan Siew Peng presented a straight talk "on camera" as Oprah Winfrey, as part of a television broadcast (from Communicating Television Manual, Project#1)
ACB Victor Ong entertained the audience as an amusing story teller with a twist of the moral of the story "Look before you kiss" (from Story Telling Manual, Project #3)
ACB Nancy Liew played Oprah Winfrey, the 1st recipient of Bop Hope Humanitary Award with her famous oratorical speech during 54th Annual Emmy Award (from Interpretive Reading Manual, Project#5)
Upon the completion of the assignment speeches, Victor Ong was recognized for the achievement of Advanced Communicator Bronze (ACB) and Nancy Liew, Advanced Communicator Silver (ACS). Both were given educational award pins by President Foong WT.
Area B1 Governor ACB Julian Gan took over the Evaluation session at the dot. He graciously led the session with his "DTM Team of Evaluators"; they are DTM Dr A Arulnathan (Toble Topic Evaluator), DTM Low Yat Seow (for Siew Peng's assignment), DTM Joseph Gomez (for Victor Ong's assignment) and DTM Bernard Louis (for Nancy Liew's assignment). In the Open Evaluation session, DTM Tham Chee Wah, ACG Dennis Wee and a guest from Crystal TMC had given their personal feedback. ACB Julian Gan wrapped out the final comments about the meeting and also thanked Time Keeper ACB Pearly Yap for doing her job well.
There was also a birthday celebration to December born men/woman, they are President ACB Foong WT, Vice-President of Membership (VPM) DTM Tham Chee Wah and our dear guest, Mrs A Arulnathan.
At 9.30pm, President ACB Foong WT thanked all members and guests attended this special meeting and closed the meeting with dessert served by the cafe. The fellowship extended by 30 minutes.
The Club will have the regular meeting back to KDU on 14th January 2010, Room 1.08, 7.30pm. See you !!!
