Speechcraft Program with Jutasama Sdn Bhd (a Wah Seong subsidiary)

Speechcraft Program
20 & 21 November 2009

From Bernard Louis (MC Day 1, Topic Speaker, Mentor)

"The Speechcraft helped me improve my presentation skills and I was fortunate to work with the best. We had a group of participants because they were so receptive and proactive.

I could feel their enthusiasm and commitment. It was so evident on the second day when they presented their case studies. They were applying all the skills : organising the speech, body language and vocal variety. They even handled the evaluation session well. The bosses who attended the Speechcraft, participated with commitment. This made it a fruitful Speechcraft.

I learned that to make people participate, you have to make it interesting.

The team was cohesive, competent and committed, and it was an experience to remember. I had a great time and I would encourage others to participate in future workshops like this...........the experience is exhilarating. "

From Nancy Liew (Case Study Master, Topic Speaker, Mentor) :

"I was truly grateful having worked with a fantastic team in Speechcraft. The experience transcended me from a speaker to a consultant.

I will never forget the sincere and rapturous applause. I was really glad that the participants enjoyed and appreciated my song. It was a part of my sharing material. For this, I must thank D'utama Advanced TMC for providing me the opportunity for my vocal practice in our previous club meeting. The effort has strengthened my speaking confidence and added values for my presentation.

The Case Study presentation proved that they were humble, focused and positive. All of them were so much more competent compared to the 1st day.

I strongly encourage members to take up similar roles in the future. As we participate in the project; we yearned, we learned, we earned!"

From Siew Peng (OC, Topic speaker, mentor)

"I was fully confident that the Speechcraft has no other option except success. Everything worked for our good. Backed by a great team of enthusiastic, dedicated, committed and experienced toastmasters, one cannot ask for more. And as expected they churned out nothing but the best. Each and every one was at their peak performance.

The audience played a great part too in bringing out the best in us. The very fact that there was no absentism for both days spoke volumes. They were punctual and came with the right attitude. They possessed a strong desire to learn.

The Jutasama Speechcraft taught me organization skills, flexibility, tune in to the needs of the audience, self discovery, maximise human potential and how fast learning can take place when equipped with the right attitude. It has been a rewarding, enriching and fulfilling experience for me.

For those who have not participated or organized a Speechcraft, 'GO FOR IT.' The experience is worth its weight in gold."

From Wei Seong (Table Topics Master, Mentor)

"I have participated in numerous Speechcraft programs but each one is different in many ways. It is always exciting to be in a new place with new set of people of different profile. This group of 26 had shown interest and willingness to explore.

Many of them expressed their concern over their lack of proficiency in the English language. After the 60-minute of Table Topics session, it was a delight to witness 13 of them attempted on their given topic. Some of them struggled. Some did reasonably well. I found that English was not an issue after all.

I had a great time encouraging them. At the same time pointed out areas for consideration. I had put in time and effort to prepare, the topics were tailored to their level and it was an interactive session.

To all fellow Toastmasters who have yet to embark in Speechcraft, I would like you to go for it. Accept the role assigned to you, prepare and asked for guidance for an effective and dynamic show."
